Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit Indian actress who is famous for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most well-known Indian actors. In the late 80s the actress began her acting career, and was popular with the role of Tezaab in which she appeared with an established actor Anil Kapooor. The next time she appeared on the screen was in Dil along with Aamir. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she started learning dance from a very young age. As a teenager She began to act and was a victim for a few years as the majority of her early films failed. Eventually, she found success in Indian cinema and rose to the very top. After her wedding, she took an absence from the industry before returning to the film industry. Dixit played an important role in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit was nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit, India's fourth highest civil honor. Her reputation also includes for her social activism.
